Taylor's Port, 2009

6 Bottle Case Offer £415 incl uk delivery

Price includes Duty, VAT and delivery

*** 95 Points - Wine Journal ***

Reviews:Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. Tasted May 2011.

Barbeito Madeira

Sercial - 10 year Old Madeira (presented in a leather effect gift Box)

'Sercial and Barbeito seem like a marriage made in heaven and indeed Barbeito 10 Year Old Sercial Madeira tastes heavenly. My tasting note: 'Peachy pale tawny. Racy with that wonderful purity and acidity, yet heady and with massive depth of fruit. Tense, serious, complex. A marvel really. Only just off dry, this would make a fabulous aperitif.'
*Jancis Robinson* - 17 points out of 20.

Champagne Moutard, 2009

6 Cépages Vintage Champagne

Champagne Moutard Cuvée '6 Cépages' 2009 is a rare vintage champagne, made in very small quantities with 'forgotten' grape varieties Arbane, Petit Meslier and Pinot Blanc, which join the more usual Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay in this fascinating blend. The wine is a sumptuous mix of floral, citrus and complex nutty flavours.

The Moutard family has been making wine since 1642. Since then they were always keen on exploring the potential of different terroirs, maintaining traditions as well as experimenting with different grapes varieties. Francois Moutard's 21 hectares vineyard are in Buxeuil on the Cote de Bar.

Chateau Lafite Rothschild, 2009

Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classe,

*** 99+ Points Robert Parker ***

Reviews:
The main reason the 2009 Lafite Rothschild did not receive a perfect score is because the wine has closed down slightly, but it is unquestionably another profound Lafite, their greatest wine since the amazing 2003. Among the most powerful Lafites ever made (it came in at 13.59% alcohol), the final blend was 82.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. The selection was incredibly severe with only 45% of the crop being utilized. A tight, but potentially gorgeous nose of graphite, black currants, licorice and camphor is followed by a full-bodied wine revealing the classic elegance, purity and delineated style of Lafite.

Ramos Pinto, 2009

Late Bottled Vintage Port presented in carton box

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 93 Points
The 2009 Late Bottled Vintage Port, bottled in November, 2013, is a blend of 70% Touriga Nacional and 25% Touriga Franca, plus some dollops of Sousão and Tinta da Barca. It comes in at 94 grams per liter of residual sugar. Compared to its older predecessors in this vertical, this was rather hard to drink until it was retried a few days later. The mid-palate concentration is about the same, but the power on this youthful wine is another issue. The tannins are rather drying and aggressive on first pour, even if the big fruit is also front-and-center. It is certainly a very different vision of LBV Port than a lot of people will be accustomed to,
