Quevedo, 2009

10 Year Old Tawny port

90 pts Robert Parker -

"Color light brown with hints of orange. Aroma very balanced with flavors of dried fruit, cinnamon and a certain floral note. Well defined aromas of wood, resulting from ageing in very old oak. On the palate light coffee beans. Nice lingering finish." Robert Parker Wine Advocate.

The colour is light and brown with hints of orange due to the long ageing in oak cask. Flavour is balanced with notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and a walnuts. On the palate the nutty flavours predominate, along with a touch of coffee and chocolate.

Skeffington Port, 2009

Vintage Port

** 89 points - Neil Martin **

Possibly the bargain of the vintage. Restrained on the nose, intensely perfumed and dominated by Gala melons. Smooth, medium-bodied entry initially with modest levels of fruit. Patience and air allows the fruit to blossom and the tannins to show. The fruit grows to surprising levels - an intriguing and intense mix of raspberries and blackcurrants. Curry powder tingles on the aftertaste before giving way to a long and powerful finish of blackberries.

Reviews
Jancis Robinson:"Very deep purple with a notably `warm` nose reminiscent of raisins. Notably high volatile acidity and masses of smudgy, pruney, sweet fruit.

Taylor's Port, 2009

Vintage Port SINGLE 75cl bottle

95 Points - Wine Journal

Reviews:Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. Tasted May 2011.

Chateau Lafite Rothschild, 2009

Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classe,

*** 99+ Points Robert Parker ***

Reviews:
The main reason the 2009 Lafite Rothschild did not receive a perfect score is because the wine has closed down slightly, but it is unquestionably another profound Lafite, their greatest wine since the amazing 2003. Among the most powerful Lafites ever made (it came in at 13.59% alcohol), the final blend was 82.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. The selection was incredibly severe with only 45% of the crop being utilized. A tight, but potentially gorgeous nose of graphite, black currants, licorice and camphor is followed by a full-bodied wine revealing the classic elegance, purity and delineated style of Lafite.

Please note that this is a 4.5Lt Special Edition

Graham's 10 Years Old is made from wines of the very highest quality which, following careful selection, are matured in seasoned oak casks of 534 litres until their peak of maturity is reached. These are among the most demanding and challenging styles of Port to produce requiring great skill and years of experience from the winemaker and blender. It is essential to strike the correct balance between the delicacy and elegance which results from prolonged cask ageing while retaining the fruit quality which lends this old Tawny its structure and longevity.
