Exclusive to VWP
2009 White Colheita Port - 50cl Bottle.
This rare white port-wine has been stored in seasoned oak casks since the 2009 harvest until it was bottled this year. White ports are a true rarity and this is an outstanding example.
Tasting Notes: The 2009 Palmer white port has a golden amber colour. On the nose it has a very fine, elegant aroma of honey, and peach infused with a spicy redolence of citrus peel and cinnamon. There are layers of complexity here with mint and a touch of walnut. The palate is perfectly balanced with a fresh acidity and sweetness. It has an amazing rich mellow flavour and an elegant citrus finish that lasts for minutes.

Sobrero
Barolo is known as the 'king of wines' and is made from the Nebbiolo grape. Heady aromas of rose, leather, vanilla, cherry, pepper, cranberry, strawberry. Fruits are perfectly knitted with the tannins and acidity. It's a powerful wine but remarkably subtle. Don't underestimate it and certainly serve it with food to show at it's best. Nebbiolo has naturally high tannins and acidity, so it will take on full-flavoured, rich foods no problem at all.

96points Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
Haut couture becomes a wine! This dense purple wine has the tell-tale notes of flowers and pencil shavings, and its broad aromatics are intense and totally captivating. Powerful, rich, and full, but less tannic than the 2005 and more opulent, this is a dazzling Branaire to drink between 2017-2035.

The 2009 Ségla under cork has a very enticing blackberry, raspberry, cedar and orange rind scented bouquet that opens nicely in the glass, gathering momentum with every swirl. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity. Quite dense and structured with a judicious dash of spice towards the classy and persistent finish. This is very impressive. 91 Neil Martin Vinous.com
